I would like to share some websites, videos and books I use when I sew. There are tons of free pattern websites and places to get various infos.
♥ patterns and resources ♥
- freesewing.eu: An open source software that generates custom patterns for your body's measurements. Even though it generates it is NOT AI :D I think people tend to forget that generating isn't an AI exclusive thing. The patterns are nothing extravagant or special, just everyday items like shirts, pants, underwear, etc.
- dr-cos.info: A website with tons of free cosplay patterns. There are some patterns that are paid but most are free. The patterns are very simple and you can easily adjust them since there are separate patterns for sleeves and other parts of a clothing item. I've been thinking for a long time to try and make a dress similar to those worn by high status women in the 1200s.
- initiative-handarbeit.de: A german website with a lot of free patterns, not only for sewing but also knitting, crochet and embroidery as well as a few other techniques. you can either directly read the pattern on the website or print it out for yourself. They also have an encyclopedia on their website to help you with various terms. There sadly is no English translation.
- kinitti.de: The same as initiative-handarbeit.de but for kids with easy patterns and tutorials for various crafts.
